This year we have diagnosed and acted upon three different cases of the Ash die back disease in Hailsham and Eastbourne, East Sussex.
Symptoms of this disease can be indentified most commonly by the ash tree leaf curling over and turning a brown/burned colour. Another common symptom is the ends of branches losing leaf when the tree should have a full healthy crown.(mid June). The branches effected by the dieback of leaf/ growth will appear to be dead and can produce these symptoms suddenly. We recommend that these symptoms of the Ash die back disease (chalara fraxinea) are to be looked for. If you do happen to identify these symptoms, please feel free to get in touch with Sussex Tree surgeons for a tree inspection and to discuss what can be done to help your tree and it's surroundings.
A healthy Ash tree should be in full leaf by mid June so please also take this into account.
If you have any queries regarding this subject, feel free to get in touch with Sussex Tree Surgeons for friendly and helpful advise or to arrange a tree inspection.
